Sirius x Petal
Litter by: Shadow & Rebel
Summary in case the story is too long for the post
Doctor is the last of his kind and when his TARDIS is sent a prophecy on how to change that he will stop at nothing. It involves bringing two unlikely lovers together, getting them aboard the TARDIS and hoping the two fall in love and that puppies blossom from them. It's hard work, and Doctor feels defeated more than once. After 4 failed attempts, he is given the perfect opportunity to bring the two together. Sirius's arch enemy has arrived back in town and his sight is set on Petal; a shy gal who is scared of her own shadow. One late afternoon as Petal is returning home from her quiet job at the bookstore Doctor owns, the thug and his rag-tag gang begin harassing her. Doctor rushes to get Sirius; hoping they won't be too late.
When they arrive at the scene, the two find Petal in a furious stare-down with the leader. Sirius is filled with an anger that confuses him; but none-the-less he protects the female and sends the mutts running. Petal is filled with thanks and agrees to board the TARDIS with Sirius. Doctor 'lends' Sirius memories from the TARDIS and takes the 2 on a romantic journey. While Petal doesn't fall for the fake memories, she does fall for the attempt Sirius makes at whooing her and agrees to a real date.
Soon enough, Petal is pregnant with 6 little puppies; each harboring traits that only a Time Lord should possess. Unfortunately, about the time they are born Daleks are once again on Doctors trail and in a last ditch attempt to protect the pups he gifts 6 Chameleon Arch Fobwatches to Sirius and Petal to lock the Time Lord traits away in. Doctor will return when the puppies are almost ready for their new home to explain who and what they truly are.

Actual Story
"Petal, if there's one thing you must know about me... It's that I'm certainly a madman with a box!"
---
A cruel knocking sound reverberated through the small apartment Petal had been pretending to call home for a week. Thrown from a dream both magnificent and terrifying, she slipped out of bed to open the door just several feet away. Before she did, though, she peeked through the peep-hole: it never hurt to be safe. On the other side of the door stood her landlord, no doubt trying to get her to accept a date... for the third time. The first time, she had passed their planned meeting at a coffee shop off as just apartment business; and the second she had acted like he was just being friendly. The multiple attempts after that, though? They had turned her away from their friendship before it ever started. Now knowing he was who woke her from her strange dream, she was all the more ready to sidle back into bed.
She opened the door a crack before speaking. "Yes?" She asked in her most calm, polite voice.
"Hello dear." He drawled in an un-comely, obviously fake southern accent. "I just though you should know that the cafe and bookstore were hiring. I know you were lookin' for a job." He gave what he called his all-star grin, before turning and walking away. Petal was relieved that the conversation ended so quickly; and closed her door with a soft click. The cafe and the bookstore? Both jobs would suit her well, and getting either of them would be a tremendous help in making a name for herself in the small town. While she would admit his company as a 'date' was not appreciated, she was thankful for her landlords effort to help; and so she got ready for her day and headed to the bookstore first.
It wasn't just that she enjoyed reading, but she also enjoyed the quiet atmosphere a bookstore and library provided; and her calm demeanor was well-fit for a place that was generally filled with reading souls. When she entered, she was instantly calmed and her eyes closed for a moment. This. The smell of books, the dim lighting... It's what she wanted. She approached the counter, and was met by a perky female pup.
"How can I help you?" The female asked, a smile lighting up her features in a way that made her eyes sparkle.
"My landlord said you were hiring." Petal replied in her most professional voice. "I came to inquire about the available position."
"Oh, of course! Follow me." The female led Petal into the back of the bookstore. In crates and boxes, covered in dust and cob-webs, were hundreds; if not thousands, of books. The room was dark, but easy to navigate as the boxes were pushed out the way to make a clear path. Petal followed the female, half apprehensive and half excited. Finally, they arrived at a brown door that the other female pushed open. Inside, the room was very clean and ornate. A large leather chair was positioned with its back to them behind a large oak desk. On the desk were scattered papers, several pens and pencils and one strange metal thing.
"Doctor, there's someone here about the job position."
Petal waited in half-fear, half-wonder as the large chair turned slowly towards them. Who she expected to look like a big, burly; angry male was... The dog from her dream? Petal had seen the dog in different dreams several times, and she had always thought it was just a face her own mind had made up; but it seemed that wasn't so. 'I must have seen him around town and just never noticed..' She thought.
"Hello, sir. I'm Petal. I've only been in town a couple of months, and I'm very eager to begin working." Petal stated. She was surprisingly calm and professional sounding; perhaps it had something to do with his familiar face.
"Ah yes. Mr. Something-or-Other, your landlord I think, said I should expect you. Yes, you should do fine." He nodded to himself, before turning his chair again and his face was gone from her view. While this did seem strange to Petal, the other female led her back to the front and her training immediately began.
---
What Petal didn't know was the face was only familiar because that very same dog had implanted his image in her head. The last of a proud race called Time Lords, Doctor only went where he was needed; and his TARDIS always knew where he was needed. He knew that the fate of the Time Lords rested in the paws of two very unsuspecting dogs in the very town he now lived in; and one of them was Petal. While Doctor was not too well versed in the ways of match-making, the TARDIS had never steered him wrong before: and if their match was already decided he would only help speed up the process.
He was unsure of what prophecy the two were to fulfill, he only knew that it would decide the fate of his race; the last of which he was. Turning back to his desk after hearing the soft click of the door closing, he opened the largest drawer. Inside rested several trinkets that had belonged to various family members and close friends. The items had been thrust in a box in one of the many rooms on the TARDIS 500 years prior; and Doctor had vowed to never look at them again. But, after accepting the match-making mission before him, he had felt compelled to grab the items and bring them to the office with him. He looked at the door, curiosity swarming in his big hazel eyes, and could only wonder one thing: What did it all mean?
---
Of course, Petal wasn't the only part of this equation. There was another dog that was a key part to the survival, or destruction, of all Time Lords and that was Sirius. Sirius was no newbie to the town in The Valley; in fact he had lived there most of his life. He was kind-hearted, with a good spirit, and Doctor could tell he would like him. Doctor had a very simple plan: make the two meet and fall in love. Well, in Doctor's head it was simple. At a young 900 years, he had seen plenty of souls fall in love and to him it was one of the easiest things there was to do. But, it only seemed easy to him because he had had seen it happen so many times to so many of his companions: the number one reason they left him was love for another.
Sirius didn't work or even go anywhere near the Bookstore; but Doctor intended to change that. It didn't take long to find out how to get him to the Bookstore. Make his favorite hot dog vendor park near it on Sirius's lunch break. While this first step worked, it didn't do it's whole job. It got Sirius to the bookstore, yes, but he wasn't even able to catch a glimpse of Petal. She went inside just moments before he arrived. Sirius, while intrigued by the quaint shop, had no time to enter; and thus had to leave. Petal would not exit the shop again for several hours.
While Doctor schemed on how to bring the two together, he spent his free time getting to know Petal and asking around about Sirius. Through Petal working for him, he found she was determined, stubborn and learned quickly. He heard Sirius had a good heart, was brave and could wrestle with the best and come out on top. The two were polar opposites, but Doctor had seen more unlikely relationships work.
Several months passed, as did several failed attempts to bring the two together. Doctor was slowly losing faith, feeling as though he had pin pointed the wrong Sirius and Petal. He began to think he should just outright approach the two and shove them together, until a dark October night presented the perfect opportunity. Doctor had heard whispering in the town that an old face had newly returned. The rumor included how angry Sirius would be to find out. Doctor, of course, took this as fate and began looking for ways to use the new party to his advantage.

|
Cheem: Cheem is intelligent, respectful and kind. His general outlook on life is that nature is the one true power, and should always be respected. While he's intelligent and often has good ideas, he mostly keeps to himself. He spends more time than he should in the forest playing amongst the roots of trees, and is often alone. But, he isn't alone because others don't like him. In fact, he's very friendly and gets along with most everyone. He is very loving towards his family, also, and likes to help them when they are in need.
Alzarius: Alzarius could best be described as a handy-man. He loves working on things, though he tends to break more than what he fixes. He's clumsy, but very intelligent when it comes to things generally hard to fix, ie cars and electronics. He tends to do odd jobs on the side, and buy more junk than he needs. He calls his junk "projects" but they're more or less just random bits and pieces he thinks might be useful someday. Though, that day hardly ever comes for most objects. Chronos: Chronos is fascinated with time. He is normally found looking at or taking apart clocks. He likes to figure out the inner workings of the machines to have a better understanding of time as a whole. He's a time manager, and is very good at keeping his schedules with everyone and helping his family keep schedule. He's also very organized and could almost be considered OCD. Chronos is very sweet though and tries to always make time for his family despite his otherwise busy schedule. Magnus: Magnus is a lady's man. He spends most his time attempting to woo the ladies, and steering clear of other males as he finds them to be drama more often than not. He is very athletic as well, and generally likes to be outside. He won't turn down binge watching a TV show, though. He enjoys sci-fi movies and action movies, and loves to talk about them. He gets along with most every female, but tends to be jealous of other males for whatever reason. Cassius: Cassius is a devil-ish little gal. She's always coming up with some scheme to get her brothers in trouble, though she is incredibly protective of her younger sister Sireen. She is very snide and snarky when meeting new people, but once you know her she's kind and excitable. She loves clothes, and hates mud, and is an all around girly girl. Cassius likes to keep up on trends, and even make her own. She is more a leader than a follower but will follow most fashion tips and sometimes attempts to start her own clothing lines.. Though she often loses motivation quickly. |
Cheem: When initially meeting Cheem, he often comes off as withdrawn. This is because he prefers being alone with nature to being with other dogs. If you do manage to get to know him past the first impression you find Cheem is intelligent, respectful and kind. He's very friendly and open about his life to those he is close to or he takes an interest in. He spends far more time than he should in the forest, and knows many facts about trees and other parts of nature that many find useless or unnecessary; but to him nature is his life. Doctor gave Cheem a Tree of Cheem clipping because he believed he could do great things to restore the nature that is slowly being destroyed around us. Cheem generally has a, "You got yourself involved in it, get yourself out of it" attitude towards his siblings; but less so towards his close friends.
Alzarius: Alzarius could best be described as a 'wanna be Handy-Man'. He loves working on things; but he generally breaks more he fixes; or breaks a different part on what he just finished fixing. He's very clumsy, and tends to make more messes than anything just by tripping over his own paws. He enjoys doing odd jobs on the side, and using the money he earns he buys more junk than he needs. He calls the junk his "projects", but they're more or less just random bits that he thinks will be useful soemday. That generally never comes for most objects, though. Alzarius has a slight temper, and is very protective of his family. He's the guardian most of the time. Chronos: Chornos is fascinated with time. He tends to tinker with clocks and things. He likes to learn how clocks work inside, and thinks it gives him a better understanding of time. He enjoys making as many plans as possible during the day, if only to see if he can fit it all in his day. He loves practicing his already fantastic time management. He's very organized, and keeps his life always moving. He could be considered border line OCD. Chronos is very sweet and polite, and tries to always make time for his family. He isn't neccesarily a fighter for his family, but he is there when they need him as a shoulder to cry on. Magnus: Magnus is a flirty gal, who tends to catch the eyes of most males she comes across. She knows how to flaunt what she has, and is not shy about doing it. She doesn't tend to hangout with other females, including her sisters, and likes to be around guys more. She'll claim it's for 'less drama', meanwhile it's really so she can see just how many males she can woo. Magnus pretends to be an airhead, but she's genuinely very intellgent (overly if you ask her siblings). Despite her general outlook on staying away from her sisters, she's always there for them. In troubled times, she tends to steer clear of her brothers; saying they are whiners. |
