Dagonet was born in Rolston, a town still very much in the King and Queen times. The town was rather nice, and the rules were simple and easy to follow. The King and Queen were kind and generous souls and tried to help their subjects as often as possible. Dagonet was born into a lower class family, though they still had quite a bit of wealth. They were part of the "treasured" community due to their Welsh Hillman status, a dying breed shared with the King and Queen. Of course, this didn't offer them any help from the royals and didn't put them in higher class. It simply meant their votes might count for more. Dagonet's father and mother had saved most of their wealth throughout their younger years. When they had all their children, though, their father must have become overwhelmed because he turned to gambling.
At first, it was small debts. A penny here, $5 there. But, eventually, it turned into more. A $1,000 here, a horse well worth $1,500 there. Before long, all their wealth was gambled away. Dagonet was the youngest of 12 puppies, all boys, and his father put each of them to work in various shops around the kingdom. He claimed it was to help him pay off debts, and eventually get better, but all their earnings went to his gambling problem. Dagonet originally started as a stable hand at a royals home, but his calm demeanor and polite words got him recommended to the castle! He was accepted, as a stable hand, and made quite the lot. He was recognized often for his hard work and perseverance. Eventually, it became evident his money was going to something far less important than his home or well-being, and Dagonet was accepted higher into the court.
Dagonet had a private audience with the King and Queen, where he explained his father's problem. They helped him pay off the final debts, and threatened his father with imprisonment if he began gambling again. While this helped, they asked that Dagonet stay with them. He agreed. He worked his way though the ranks, eventually being added onto the royal guard when he saved a damsel in distress, then worked his way though those ranks as well. He became head knight, but because of the little crime around Rolston he had little to do. When Anwen was brought to the castle, he was her guide. The two fell in love, and the rest is history.

Fever Crumb: A former knight beside Dagonet, Dagonet's "son"
- Dagonet is the son of a gambler
- Dagonet worked hard to reach the rank he eventually reached
- Dagonet fell in love with Anwen the moment he laid eyes on her
- Fever Crumb became like Dagonet's own son when he was drafted into knight ship. He traveled with Dagonet and Anwen for a short time
Dagonet is brave, though stubborn. He often acts on impulse and doesn't tend to do what he's supposed to do. He gets carried away and does things that endanger himself; but he has never been known to endanger others.
