Lara was always different. She was born into a family of sea-loving pirates, and all of her siblings shared that trait. But Lara had no love of the sea or water, and wanted nothing more than to live in the big city. She wasn't entirely sure what her passion was, she just knew it didn't have to do with smelling salt and wobbling on a ship deck all day. Her family was a tad disappointed, but supported her when she left home. She went to the big city, where things went fine for several months before falling to pieces around her. Crestfallen, Lara began making her way home.
When she finally arrived home, she discovered all of her siblings had joined a pirate crew. Feeling as though she had no other options, Lara joined Voyage. Despite her unpleasant temperament, Finn accepted her because; frankly, the crew needed a member who had some idea what they were doing. While Lara may not have liked it, she did have a particular knack for ships having been born into a family of pirates. She agreed to teach them and help them on the promise she would be free to leave once she found her family.
When she did find her family, she also found Mayday; who she immediately had a great dislike for. Luckily, she would be able to ditch the new lass. Or, so she thought. She was denied access to the ship her siblings worked, and they refused to leave for her. So, she was stuck on Voyage. While Lara is not totally happy with the turn her life took, she is beginning to accept it as what is meant to be.

- Lara joined Voyage to find her siblings.
- Lara dislikes the crew, and thinks they are incompetent. She has recently started trying to give them an actual chance, though.
- Lara does not like Mayday in the slightest, but only because they are the same age and Mayday is the better pirate.
Lara's distant personality is a result of her being unable to figure out who she is. She struggled for a very long time with her sexuality and, because of her uncertainty, tried to avoid interacting with others at all costs. Once she came to terms with that, she found she didn't really know anything else about herself either. She was unsure of her passions, or hobbies. She knew only that she enjoyed keeping others away from her, despite also wanting others to embrace and accept her. She is working on becoming the girl she wants to be, which as much as she hates to admit it is similar to Mayday.
