Before Birth
Dux was born and raised in Strezatis to two parents who had led similar lives, but had vastly different hopes and dreams. Both of his parents were strays, of sorts, though in entirely different areas and choosing two entirely different paths. It's still unclear to Dux how his parents met and, more baffling still, fell in love; but they did. His father, Gale, was a big time mafia operator; the commander in chief. He was well-known, though respected would be an exaggeration. Chevy, on the other paw, had led a quiet life as a stray, sticking to herself and her family; but losing both of her siblings along the way. Gale never intended to give up the mafia lifestyle, Chevy never intended to be apart of it. But, strange things do happen and the two wound up together. When Chevy became pregnant, it did not fit either of their life plans; but they each took it in a different way. Gale was upset, and immersed himself into his lifestyle; while Chevy set out to make a better life for herself and the puppies she was now carrying.
At one time, the mafia had excited Chevy; but she no longer had any desire to be anywhere near it. This resulted in a brief break between his parents, while Chevy straightened out and Gale pushed himself further and further into dangerous territory.
Early Months-1 year
Once the litter of three pups was born, Gale did approach his family and fall in love with the bundles of fur. He still refused to give up his mafia lifestyle, though. While Gale was heavily involved with his children, he struggled juggling the family man persona and the secret mafia. Dux grew up with an average amount of fighting from his parents, which led him to believe relationships were nothing more than a battle you could never win. Dux watched his father continue to do as he wished, with little regard for Chevy's feelings. Dux was being led to believe disrespecting females was accepted, and even okay. When Chevy began noticing this new development in her sons personality, she put her paw down: if Gale wasn't going to respect her, he was going to leave. This straightened him up, and he began teaching Dux the ways of being a real man.
While he no longer disrespected his mother or his sisters, Dux did become a master manipulator among other things. He was great at getting just about anyone to do what he wanted, with just a wink of his pretty eyes and the right words coming off his tongue as soft as silk. With these skills he had developed, his father believed Dux would take over the mafia; but that isn't quite what happened.
1 year-3 years
Dux did stick to his ways for awhile, gaining the title of, "Cobalt's Player." He bore this title proudly, because despite his reputation being obviously known females couldn't help but fall at his feet. This portion of his life and personality lasted until he was about 2 years old and he realized he would hate for a male to treat his sisters the way he was treating females. He quickly cleaned up his act, going so far as to apologize to any he had ever hurt, before deciding he wanted something more than Cobalt. He wanted absolute freedom. For a few short years, Dux became a pirate.
3 years-6 years
(Pirate Life)
For 3 years, Dux traveled the 7 seas, working his way from the bottom to the top quicker than any other canine ever had. He eventually became a captain, a good one at that, and made a great living off it. He was making enough money that he was able to spend an over-abundant amount on materialistic items and still stock-pile a good amount of savings. When he returned to Cobalt 3 years later, he had more than enough money to buy the entire town; but settled for a new barn built on many, many acres. This splurge didn't even dent his savings.
6 years-Present
Dux used a decent amount of his money to turn Generation X into what it became and still is today: a home for the misfits and orphans, the unwanted and hated, the helpless and hopeless. Eventually, Dux realized that; while he was good at helping his occupants turn their lives around, he was no good with bills or a business aspect of things. He met Rebel, a newcomer to Cobalt, at her job as a librarian, and their one talk led to her moving into and then eventually becoming the owner of Generation X. Dux stayed on as a rule enforcer, and eventually met his mate Chandelere. The two have one son together, and Dux is proud of the very complete life he has lived thus far.

Chevy: Chevy is not just Dux's mother, but also one of his best friends. He often confides in her over things bothering him, both in his relationship with Chandelere and problems concerning others. When he went off to become a pirate, Chevy gifted her collar to him as a parting gift; and it is very near and dear to his heart.
Gale: Gale is Dux's father, and probably one of his worst enemies. Gale had always intended for Dux to take over the mafia he had so carefully built; but obviously Dux had different plans. The two still get into small arguments about it, despite Dux being grown.
Valen: Valen and Dux are best friends, though if you base friendship off of time spent together you would not say they even knew eachother. When it counts, though, the two are there for each other.
Rebel: Dux would probably consider Rebel like a sister, having gifted Generation X to her and also sticking by her whenever she needs a friend.

Personality
- Daring: Dux is one of those males who will try anything once. Fearless and capable, he's been known to do just about every terrifying thing there is. He claims his time as a pirate desensitized him to most; but that's hardly true as he was the same way when he was younger. Of course, daring doesn't just pertain to his out-going, crazy ideas; but also to the fact no foe is too big or scary for him to approach and, if necessary, battle.
- Leader: Dux has to be in some kind of powerful position, or he feels out of place. He's always been very "I am leader, hear me roar" though not in an overbearing way. He's more like the calm, collected leader who gives 2 choices always; and just sort of expects you to make the right one. While he dislikes the "firing" aspect of being a leader, he will do it within reason.
- Sprightly: While Dux is often serious, he also has a fun and playful personality around friends or his son. He is capable of decently funny jokes, and also enjoys play-fighting.
Fun Facts
- Dux means Captain in latin. When Dux was little, he walked around calling himself "Captain Dux".
- Dux is very immature at times, although he doesn't mean to be
Why is he considered a fursona?
I have had Dux for a long time. He was born in a litter to my old fursona, Chevy, and her mate Gale. At first, it was just a fun litter to kind of see what they could produce. My friend created him for me, and something about him just really stuck to me and he became more important to me than even Chevy. He grew as I grew, and has had quite the life. From daring adventures at sea as a pirate, to turning into the family man he is now, Dux has no similarities to my life as far as his life goes. Our similarities are in our personalities, in my opinion.
Dux is a die hard Captain America fan, probably the most notable trait we share. Dux means Captain in latin, and I gave him the cute story of always calling himself Captain Dux as a youngster; before knowing Dux really meant Captain. Dux shares the collar his mother had to represent me, because I still feel it's a notable part of who I am, even if I'm not part of the LGBTQ+ community, but just a supporter of it. I've always said Dux represents who I would be as a male. Brave, cunning, a leader. But also a ladies man until the right lass came along, and then a full-on father figure.
Design wise, the simplicity of him really calls to me, but he still has some complex aspects as well. I love that he's not entirely symmetric.
Proabably the main reason I call this guy my fursona though is that, every time I try to say he isn't "me" and get a different fursona, I find some reason or another that he fits me better than a fursona made to represent me.

At this time, it says his mate is N/A. I intend to speak with Alsa about his and Chandelere's relationship. Even if they do not stay together, Dux will not be on the market to find another mate.
