Before Sasha
Before Sasha was born, a large group of dogs banned together to be an "army" of Strezatis. They weren't necessarily for or against Strezatis, and their involvement in wars was always about which side they preferred. For them, it wasn't about defending their homelands but about the battle; the pain, the adrenaline. Both of Sasha's parents were wayward wanderers who found this large group and decided to join. The group was simply called, "The Soldiers". Similar to mercenaries, they fought for themselves; though they were always willing to protect others for some form of payment. Sasha's parents were part of a smaller group, a group of soldiers who fought in any battle that came their way; whether there would be personal gain or not. For them it was all about feeling their own flesh tear and making others feel the same pain.
Fighting wasn't all they did though, they had a whole season dedicated to reproducing, and sometimes they even fell in love. This happened for Sasha's parents. The two fell hard, and for awhile debated leaving "The Soldiers" but they had both invested to much into it and couldn't bring themselves to part, even knowing the lifestyle wasn't ideal for growing puppies.
Birth-Early Months
Sasha was born into a litter of 6 pups, 3 boys and 3 girls. Their parents tried to shelter them from their lifestyle for as long as possible, but Sasha found out a lot sooner than her siblings. She was always very curious, and followed her parents to training one evening. Something about the violence made her heart race, but in a good way. Before her parents noticed her, she slipped away to contemplate the secret life her parents lived. At home, they gave a very "peace" approach, and taught their children about love, morals and respect. But away from home, they were savage fighting machines-- and Sasha enjoyed their alter life more in a way. Eventually, she admitted to her parents that she knew, and so they explained their alter life to all of their children; giving them the option to choose which path they wanted to follow.
Sasha, of course, chose the brutal life her parents hid; along with her 3 brothers. Her 2 sisters chose to pretend they had no clue, wishing for nothing more than peace. Sasha's first several months of life was made up of training to become the brutal beast she is today.
1 year-3 years
Sasha was a favorite for both of her parents, advancing far faster in the fighting than her brothers. Before Sasha was six months old, she was on the front lines with the big dogs; which made her unique and an important asset to The Soldiers. She was all soldier, and the kindness that had once enclosed her heart slowly melted away; something far more fierce taking place. The description often offered to newcomers about Sasha was that she was an excellent soldier. Sasha was a year old when she began offering her services for a hefty fee, but every customer agreed it was well worth it. She handled their dirty work quickly and efficiently. She was so good, in fact, she was never caught and known by authorities as the "Spirit of Revenge."
At 2, the Second Realm War (or World War II) began and a draft was set in place. Sasha was picked for it, along with two of her three brothers. She has often said, "I would have volunteered if not for the draft." Indicating she had already been preparing. She was valuable in this war, and is considered one of the key units in ending it. She fought for Strezatis, while one of her brothers fought against it as some of the mercenaries are wont to do. This was the brother who had been skipped over for the draft and he and Sasha did eventually face off; with Sasha coming out on top. After the war ended, and Sasha was rewarded, she felt great pressure from both of her parents; and that's probably why she pushed so hard to meet and then surpass the expectations of those around her.
3 years-5 years
These two years are, more or less, a blur to Sasha. She knows she became a killing machine in this time, but can't really remember who exactly she killed; which haunts her. Sasha never found fault in her lifestyle until she entered Cobalt. Sasha took about a month out of every year to travel Strezatis and find new customers, and on this particular hunt she stumbled into Cobalt. A town filled with misfits who may not have lived the "perfect" life, Sasha felt at home and even at peace (a feeling she normally only felt among the chaos of battle.) After feeling this, Sasha chose to settle and let go of her mercenary life.
5 years-Present
Many say Sasha has met the devil and lived to tell the tale. Sasha does not deny this. She has been to hell and back and enjoyed every moment of it, it's in her DNA. Sasha still enjoys any fight that comes her way, but she no longer actively seeks a battle. This isn't to say she's far when a war worth fighting comes her way though. Sasha is labeled as The Soldier of Cobalt to this day, a title she bears proudly. Whenever something evil comes to call, she's right there; ready to defeat it and send it running back home to mama, tail between its legs.

Personality
Heroic: At one time, Sasha could have referred to herself as more "murderer" than "hero", but after coming to Cobalt she realized the things she had done, the things she was now ashamed of, had little to do with really murdering, and everything to do with saving those who needed it. For a long time she didn't understand that the reason the violence appealed so much to her was because it gave her the ability to protect on a different level, the ability to defend all those she loved and also those who needed it in whatever form. At one time, she also wanted to be that shoulder to cry on; but as she slowly lost herself over the years this part of her deteriorated and left her with only the ability to fight to defend. Despite this, she is still the "hero" of Cobalt, and she has started to see herself in this light.
Dispirited: At times, probably more often than not, Sasha is down and depressed. She feels herself spiraling out of control and can't quite stop it. At these times, she secludes herself; because she will never show her weaknesses to anyone... At least, not on purpose. Too proud to be recognized for the normal dog she is, Sasha fails to realize opening up is not weak but possibly one of the most heroic things anyone can do.
Loyal: Once Sasha becomes close to someone, her loyalty lies with them; no matter if they're wrong or right. She will always stand beside those she cares for and defend them in whatever way they need. Her loyalty ends at betrayal, though, and is rarely ever given back if such is the case.
Sasha is bold, courageous and stubborn. She isn't afraid of anything or anyone and she takes what she wants, when she wants. She is incredibly reactive and has no problems standing up to even the biggest of foes. She trusts herself more than anyone, and finds it hard to make friends. To get to know Sasha, you first have to understand that some of the things she says simply aren't her; but instead her various mental illnesses or her war self talking. She finds it hard to function in the regular world, having been raised to fight from such an early age. Her fight or flight mode is permanently stuck on fight, and there's even days where she hates it. Sasha would rather fight than ever admit that someone else is right; though she generally doesn't have to fight or admit anything. She's very intelligent, and has a large vocabulary. She is also fluent in both Latin and German, though she will rarely speak in either language.

Why is she considered a fursona?
I had always loved L.I.L.A. A character owned by my good friend, Alsa, I always adored her design and her art. Something about her was gorgeous to me, probably the deep brown with those pastel markings. I loved how, really, she was simple; but she was also complex. Simplex, if you will. At one point, I had forgotten L.I.L.A existed; until I offered to do an overhaul on my friend Alsa's character website in exchange for a litter pup she had at the time. As I was making the pages, I seen L.I.L.A and quickly said I wanted her instead.
Alsa was hesitant, and for good reason. Who could possibly want to part with L.I.L.A? So, we did a co-own to own deal, and eventually Alsa sent me the most amazing message: She told me L.I.L.A was all mine! I did end up letting L.I.L.A have a mate, and they were meant to have a litter. Instead, the male's owner got a pup made and I just never did. So, L.I.L.A has a son and grandchildren. But, Sasha doesn't.
L.I.L.A is not my fursona. She is the character I received, who was a zombie apocalypse hunter and very good at what she did. Sasha? Sasha is more me. I made Sasha a WWII veteran because I adore learning about wars. Her design, though, stayed the same. Everything about her just screams me in my mind. Sasha represents me more fully than any other character design besides Dux, and even then it's a close tie.
